Barbara Kane is our Volunteer of the Week!
Barbara has been a driving force and an active leader with the Friends of the Brown County Library (FBCL) for over eight years. Barbara works year-round to help raise funds, coordinate book sales, promote literacy and the library and support the library staff and the community. Barbara has also been a board member since 2008. Between board meetings, the used book sales and the Branch Buddies activities, Barbara volunteers hundreds of hours a year for the Friends of the Brown County Library.
One of the biggest fundraising activities the Friends group coordinates is the bi-annual Used Book Sale. Barbara has assisted with these sales since 2008 and has been the lead chairperson since 2010. The Used Book Sales require year-round work and Barbara has continued to improve the Used Books Sales through process upgrades, recruiting key volunteers and finding corporate supporters throughout the community. With Barbara's leadership and assistance, the Friends group is able to provide the funds for the library to purchase innovative technology, trying new processes and equipment to support the increased efficiency of the library staff and to help support the ideas of the staff. These are things that could not be covered in the county budget and yet make our library the best possible place for our community.
Barbara is not only a truly outstanding volunteer, but she also has a way of bringing others together to support a shared goal, accomplish things that a lone individual could not do and create enthusiasm within the community. She is often working behind the scenes to encourage leadership in others, drum up community support and make sure all the details are covered. The Library, the Friends and the community are all lucky to have Barbara’s leadership and her spirit of volunteerism on their side.
Thank you Barbara for your leadership and continued dedication to the Friends!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)
Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
