Mary Lou and Jim Schumacher are our volunteers of the week!
The mission of The Salvation Army of Greater Green Bay is to preach the gospel of Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Mary Lou and Jim do just that, in so many ways. When they retired here in 2021, they wanted to stay engaged so, having served The Salvation Army previously, they joined the Green Bay Corps. Their knowledge and skills were so widespread they were able to jump right in without missing a step. Their kindness and enthusiasm are wonderful to witness. Every time there is a need, the Schumachers do whatever they can to step forward and help.
Jim and Mary Lou regularly volunteer in the lunch service program, serving nearly 200 people per day. They have also assisted seniors by providing safe rides to weekly in-house programming opportunities. They even dove headfirst into making an impact on the Christmas campaign. The Schumachers truly are leaders in the service field. Their dedication, willingness to do whatever they can, and positive attitudes are inspiring. Day in and day out, they are making a difference and are prime examples of doing God’s work and serving our community in wonderful ways. Thank you, Jim and Mary Lou, for your willingness to share your time and talents!
