Volunteer of the Week
Jerry Tochterman is our Volunteer of the Week!

Jerry Tochterman is a volunteer who brings dedication, a caring attitude and a smile to all his volunteer work. Jerry has been volunteering for years for the Salvation Army Bell Ringing campaign. Every year, he finds the time between his work schedule, family commitments and other volunteer efforts to ring bells. He is always willing to sign up for several shifts but prefers those just before Christmas. Jerry has also assisted with activities and volunteer needs at Aspiro. Another love of Jerry’s is sports, so he has been able to combine this love of sports with his desire to volunteer by assisting with both the Special Olympics and for the St. Nobert hockey team. Jerry is a wonderful example of finding something you have a passion for and then finding a way to volunteer to make the community stronger. Jerry is so willing to give of his time that he is an awesome volunteer.

Thank you, Jerry, for sharing your passion and joy with the community!

Wellspring - A Program of Lutheran Social Services
We operate Wellspring – A Place of Peace for Women – a daytime resource center just for women in the heart of downtown Green Bay. The center provides a peaceful, caring place to connect with other women who are facing similar issues and difficulties, especially when their lives get very challenging. For many women in transition, Wellspring serves as another family, a place to belong, a friend away from home – with programming focusing on mind, body and spirit.

Wellspring serves more than 300 women who visit more than 4,200 times a year seeking peer support, personal growth opportunities, resources and referrals.

Wellspring offers services to women who are homeless, living with mental illness, disabled, facing financial issues or in broken relationships. We provide safety, security and belonging through peer support, personal growth opportunities, resources and referrals so you may heal, connect and grow to be successfully on your feet again.

Our professional staff and volunteers work to empower you to reach your fullest potential. Within a compassionate and accepting atmosphere of women of all cultures, age, economic status and religious backgrounds, Wellspring strives to elevate your mind, body and spirit. We foster an atmosphere of dignity and respect through networking, empathetic listening and mentoring. It offers meaningful resources to help you grow, renew and become empowered.
