Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance Employees  have been volunteering with the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity (GGBHFH) for more than nine years. Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity serves the hardworking, low income population faced with poor living conditions by providing them with the means to affordable housing.  It is estimated that over 5,000 families in Brown County are income eligible for a Habitat home. Affordable housing is a growing need in our community and continues to be a top unmet need in Brown County. Ameriprise employees have helped address the need for affordable housing, and in 2014 provided GGBHFH with more than 1,000 hours of volunteer services and more than $30,000 in financial contributions.

In addition to financial contributions and build site volunteers, Ameriprise employees took the initiative to coordinate schedules, tasks and forms for more than 100 build site volunteers, which saved GGBHFH many hours of effort. The Ameriprise employee networks also provided lunches for the build site volunteers on nine different build days.

Thank you, Ameriprise employees, for your commitment to our community!

assaultThe Sexual Assault Center of Family Services is looking for interns and volunteers to work as Sexual Assault Advocates in Brown County. No experience is necessary; all advocates receive extensive training prior to working with victims of Sexual Violence. Advocates play an important role in victims' healing process as they not only field incoming hotline calls, but also respond to hospitals or police stations to provide immediate support and information. Interns provide additional support and legal advocacy. Both commit to two shifts each month that work with their schedule and attend monthly meetings with other advocates to maintain protocols and expand knowledge. Their next training starts May 4, so contact them soon for more details about this opportunity! For more information, contact Chelsey Steffens at 920-436-8899 or  ctingley@familyservicesnew.org.
