Mary Jo Blaney Kolb and her 8-year-old golden retriever, Molly, volunteer at the Weyers-Hilliard Library in Howard every other Tuesday night. Children from the ages of three to eleven read books and interact with the two of them. This program is called the Paws for Tales program, and they have taken part in it for the past three years.

Through the Paws for Tales program, the children learn to associate reading with fun. This helps both the dog and the children feel safe in a calm and encouraging environment. Often times, this is the only time outside of school that these children get a chance to practice their reading.

Thank you, Mary Jo and Molly, for your work children in our community!
