Nominations Are Due Tomorrow!

Consider what our community would be like without the efforts of volunteers.

The Small Group Award category, which is sponsored by Bellin Health, would be for a group of ten or fewer volunteers whose combined volunteer efforts have strengthened the community.

Please take the time to honor the enormous impact that volunteers make in our community by nominating an individual or group for one of the WPS Volunteer Awards. The Volunteer Awards program is put on by the Volunteer Center of Brown County and sponsored by Wisconsin Public Service.

Nominations Are Due Tomorrow!

volunteeroftheweek Volunteer of the Week
Georgie Laws  is a Franklin Middle School student who enjoys volunteering with her church and Bay Area Humane Society. She gets great enjoyment from volunteering her time in whatever way she can. She specifically liked handing out road salt to community members because she can see the surprise and appreciation in those she helped.

By donating roughly 100 hours volunteering with Bay Area Humane Society, Georgie has made a difference in the lives of animals due to her direct care and contact. She has helped to meet needs at the animal shelter that are often not met because of the sheer number of animals that go to the shelter and the inability for staff to spend significant amounts of time with the animals.

Georgie has a kind and positive attitude and truly enjoys the various volunteer activities she engages in. She is a great role model to those around her and a tremendous asset to the volunteer community because of her varied interests and her willingness to help out. Georgie has directly impacted both people and animals in her different volunteer experiences and many in the community are better off thanks to her efforts.

She is a great contributor who is continuing to make positive changes in her community. Thank you Georgie for your dedication and time given to those you have helped.
