YOU DECIDE WHO WINS!
VOTE for CCEH!

Community Matters More is a program of the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation that directly engages the public in grant-making. During the month of February, voters will determine the recipients of over
$140,000 awarded to 55 local nonprofit organizations in Maine and New Hampshire. The two organizations with the most votes in each geographical region will receive a $5,000 grant, while the remaining organizations will receive $1,000.

Emergency Winter Shelter

The shelter averaged 22 people per night in December and was exactly on pace with last year. For the past 2 weeks we have been full to capacity.

FYI, at least 10 of the 40 in the shelter hold jobs and go to work consistently. Another 25% of the shelter guests are near/past retirement age.

Volunteers still needed , especially for weekends and overnights
There is always a manager present.

The RC continues to host about 40 guests a day. 10 to 15 of these individuals hold jobs.
They receive caseworker support, hot coffee, the opportunity to do laundry, take a shower, use a computer . . . and connections with many other services one may need to move forward and out of homelessness.
