December 2019
Greetings!
Welcome to the Volunteer Gwinnett News, a quarterly newsletter to help you stay informed about opportunities to volunteer, how to become a volunteer, and the work volunteers are doing in our community today.

Volunteers are an essential part of Gwinnett County Government and our community. Their selfless contributions ensure projects get done, improve lives, build bridges, save tax dollars, and keep us all vibrantly connected.
Thank You!
Volunteer Gwinnett would like to close the year by taking a moment to thank all of the wonderful volunteers who devote their personal time to Gwinnett County. To the countless volunteers who selflessly spend hours putting up smoke alarms, delivering meals, providing transportation for our seniors, removing invasive species from park lands, and picking up trash from rivers and lakes, thank you!

To all those who took the time to share your skills and knowledge to directly benefit other residents, your support and efforts are truly appreciated. To each and every one of you who are reading this and taking an interest in the work that we do, thank you.

Volunteers like you are an essential part of Gwinnett County Government and our community. Your selfless contributions ensure projects get done, improve lives, build bridges, save tax dollars, and keep us all vibrantly connected.
Project Highlights
Eagle Scout Project
On November 2, Eagle Scout Candidate Tommy Ellison led his troop to complete their service project at McDaniel Farm Park. They designed and built a fence around an existing pollinator garden to protect it from human and animal deterioration. Thank you, Tommy, for being an environmental steward and protecting our parks!
Cleanup at Bryson Park
The Gwinnett Department of Water Resources partnered with the city of Lilburn and Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation to clean up Bryson Park November 16. The cleanup crew was made up of 35 community volunteers, including Meadowcreek High School Key Club students and Cub Scout Troop 544, who collected 26 bags of trash weighing in at roughly 500 pounds!
Gwinnett Employees in Action
