Thank You For a Successful Roll-Out!

It's been about four months since we launched the Volunteer Hub and thanks to you, along with the generous people of Nevada County, it has been more successful than we could have imagined. 

So far, we have 47 partner organizations registered and over 100 volunteer opportunities! The number of organizations involved and opportunities posted has been steadily climbing every day and we are overjoyed every time we hear of another connection made through our site. 

The continued success of this program depends on your success with it, so please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions or suggestions you may have. 

We are excited to move onward and upward with you!

Speaking of connections made, we would love to know about any and all volunteers you find through the Hub. Was a connection formed because of a Connecting Point social media post or newspaper article? Please pass along the word to us! Send a courtesy email to Susan, our Resource & Volunteer Liaison, or encourage your volunteers to  register on the site.

Volunteer Hub Video in Production

A big part of spreading the word about Volunteer Hub will be maintaining a strong presence on social media and we have started an exciting video project that will highlight some of the organizations and volunteers who are making positive connections through the Hub. 

You may have already been contacted by Daniela from our communications team about scheduling opportunities to record video footage and take some photos of your organizations and events through the end of the year.  Our goal is to put together an introductory video in early 2020 to introduce the community to the Volunteer Hub and generate interest in all the valuable organizations involved. 

We see the Volunteer Hub as a win-win-win for everyone involved and want our footage to reflect that, so w e want to show your organization at its best and we welcome your help with that. If you have any good photos or video footage of your organization that you would love to highlight, please don't hesitate to send it our way.

Outreach Materials

Speaking of spreading the word, we have plenty of outreach materials that you are more than welcome to. Volunteer Hub flyers, stickers, and information on Connecting Point and 211 are available to you at any time. Just send an email to Brett in our communications department with your requests and he will make sure you get what you need!

Be Featured in the Union

You may have already caught our Volunteer Opportunity Spotlight, a revolving selection of highlighted volunteer opportunities, in the pages of The Union Newspaper every Monday. A nother part of our outreach plan, in partnership with The Union, will be two additional alternating features; "Know Your Nonprofit", a profile piece on a specific partner organization; and " Volunteer Q&A", an interview with specific volunteers about their experiences after connecting with an opportunity.

Our hope is that these features will draw more attention to the opportunities being offered on our Volunteer Hub, but also highlight the work of the amazing nonprofits in our community. We think this will be a great way to spread the word about who you are and what you do. It will also help you find volunteers who connect to your organization's mission and values. We will be compiling as many of these as we can and we would love to get started submitting these ASAP. But for this, we need your help.
