Hi everyone! I hope your summer is going well!
To start off our summer, a few of your board members here with the AMTA Wisconsin Chapter attended the first ever VLC, or Volunteer Leadership Conference! It was a rousing success. It was not only great to spend the week with AMTA leadership from all over the country but it was an excellent learning opportunity as well.
We attended various lectures on how to serve our AMTA massage community better. We did a deep dive into the programs we use to create our events, we workshopped improving different aspects of the AMTA, and had an in depth discussion on the different processes we implement to put on our educational events.
As you can imagine, this information is quite essential to everything we do as a board! For me personally, having recently transitioned from the secretary position into the presidency, this conference helped me to gain my footing in having a role that comes with a bit more responsibility. It helped me understand how to be a better leader and to have the knowledge to support everyone on the Wisconsin board in the service they so diligently provide to us.
As we welcome more volunteers, VLC is an excellent conference to attend to understand the ins and outs of what we do as a chapter and I'm very much looking forward to attending more in the future!
