Our Most Pressing Volunteer Needs
I asked Kevin his opinion on our most pressing volunteer needs, and here's what he said:

  1. Becoming an Associate Precinct Chair: Supporting the Precinct Chair's "Get Out The Vote" (GOTV) effort, which focuses on canvassing (block walking and phone banking).

2. Fundraising: So we can do mailings and ads this fall. We also need hosts for Candidate fundraising parties.

3. Training to become an election worker and/or deputy voter registrar.

4. Attending meetings of various government organizations (Commissioners' Court, City Council, School Board, Water Board, etc.) This effort will help us reach our long-term goal of developing candidates to run in 2020.

If you're interested in any of these opportunities, please email me .
KCDP Office Open for Business!
The KCDP/BAD Office on Main Street now has regular operating hours! We're open Wednesdays-Saturdays from 11am-2pm.

Stop by to purchase signs or buttons, meet with volunteers, pick up printed material for your block walks, or to find out more about either organization. We put our sandwich board sign out front so everyone knows we're here.

If you'd like to volunteer to help staff the office, please let me k now! We have an open spot for Saturday, August 4 (with more shifts available in September); please email me if you can help.
Office Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Join us on Tuesday, July 31 at 1:00pm when we have our "official" Office Ribbon Cutting ceremony, with the Boerne Chamber of Commerce. Join us for a photo opportunity and some social time (with snacks) afterwards. No RSVP necessary.
Training "Pause" for VAN
I'm working on a new process that will make running reports much easier on everyone involved, so for now, I am suspending VAN training for this week. Once I get this new process figured out and documented, I'll be happy to meet you to show you how to run reports (and with fewer steps!).
Interest in Another LTE Workshop?
Our recent "Letters to Editor" workshop on Tuesday, July 17 was a huge success. Joyce Humble (Precinct Chair from Blanco County) trained ten folks on writing effective letters; I can't wait to read them! Letters to the editor are an effective way to express our progressive principles and values to our community.

I had to turn away 3-4 folks due to lack of space. If you're interested in another workshop time, let me know, and I'll coordinate one with Joyce.
