CRC Volunteer
Update
2/12/18

Dear CRC Volunteer,

Thank you for all you do to keep our programs strong! CRC could not do the work we do without your valuable support as a volunteer.

This month, volunteers have:

  • Provided a dignified and free shopping experience in our Food & Nutrition Center for 473 individuals and families in January.
  • Sorted, cleaned, and stocked our three Resale Stores, which provide additional income for our programs.
  • Kept our social media channels updated, and creative!
  • Welcomed clients at our front desk.
  • Provided therapy for the children of domestic violence victims.
  • Trained to be a part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
  • Joined a “Sub” list for our Food and Nutrition program, for when our regular volunteers are sick or take vacation.
  • Provided hours of administrative help at our 2nd street offices.
  • And much, much more…

Thank you! Please take a look at our February newsletter to see what's new and how you can get involved ...
New & Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Here are a few current needs we have here at CRC ...

  • Videographer: Help us capture the best CRC moments!

  • Deep-cleaning: Help our Food & Nutrition Center and CRC Resale Stores shine. This is a great group opportunity!

  • Host a book drive: Collect books for participants at our Food & Nutrition Center and to sell at our Resale Stores

Please contact Sara Rosenbaum if you are interested in any of these opportunities!
Tax Assistance
Become a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant!
CRC has an ongoing need for more volunteers to assist with our Volunteer Income Tax Assistant (VITA) program. The VITA program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers. Whether you are an experienced professional or want to give a few hours as a greeter, we need your help to serve even more families this year!  No experience is necessary! Note: Requires an online training course.

Our VITA volunteers often work long hours and we are looking for snack donations to help them as they serve those in need. To help in this way, please contact Sara Rosenbaum.
Spring Tea
Please contact Sara Rosenbaum if you are interested in being a set up/clean up, or event volunteer at our 23rd Annual Engligh Tea. This fundraiser luncheon is scheduled for Saturday April 14th and set up will take place on April 13 in the afternoon. A great group opportunity!

Spotlight On:
CRC Ambassador Program
We are developing a team of committed volunteers who want to know more about what the CRC does and are willing to represent us out in the community. This includes both “tabling” at events and speaking at organizations interested in hearing more about who we are and the services we provide. Both roles include sharing about volunteer and donor opportunities at CRC.
Do you have a story to share about volunteering?
Please share with me to include in future newsletters.
Please contact Sara Rosenbaum, Volunteer Coordinator, at srosenbaum@crcncc.org or (760) 230-6501.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
