Nancy Klein
Losing Nancy Klein was so unexpected and such a shock to all of us at St. Vincent de Paul. Nancy and Mike, of course, funded our current SVdP Center. That could never have happened without Nancy and Mike. Separately, Nancy provided assistance to several individuals in our community, families, senior citizens and others. Nancy’s heart was so big and her generosity was endless. As those who knew her as a friend, and that includes many of our volunteers, you could not have a more caring person in your life. May God shine his face on her, eternal rest to our sister Nancy.
Joe Diamond
Carlyn Diamond, our faithful and dedicated Vincentian, has had her share of sorrows in her life. Most recently the loss of her husband, Joe. Joe Diamond was for many years the Sacristan for Saints Peter and Paul Parish. As so many of us know, Joe was also a major support system for Carlyn and her fundraising efforts for SVdP. The cocktail parties, movie nights, fashion shows all chaired or co-chaired by Carlyn were very much a joint effort involving Joe. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carlyn, her family and for the repose of the soul of our brother Joe.
Joy Connolly
Those of you who knew Joy Connolly know that the food pantry lost a wonderful volunteer and friend. Joy was also a valuable part of the Angel Tree, printing gift cards for the tree and speaking from the altar at St. Joseph’s on behalf of SVdP. Joy’s sweetness and kindness to those in need and to those who volunteered with her will be greatly missed. God rest her soul and grant consolation to her family and friends.

SVdP Participates in Volunteer Fair
SVdP was well represented by our Ambassadors Marybeth Lane, Millie Houck and Wanda Diffley at the Volunteer Fair, held on April 30th at the Academy Art Museum in Easton. Thank you to all who helped with this opportunity!
SVdP & the SSPP Bulletin

Be sure to check out our column in the weekly Saints Peter and Paul Parish bulletin. We are featuring volunteers randomly selected from all areas of St. Vincent de Paul on a monthly basis, and you might find yourself asked to be in one of the next ones! Thanks to marketing volunteer Ken Tokarz for interviewing our volunteers and writing informative articles to spread the word about the many good things St. Vincent de Paul does for the community.
Food Pantry Photos
Anne Warfel and Lorrie Moran are caught washing the floor of the walk-in fridge. Other hard-working scrubbers included Martha Loutsch, Judy Walters, and Carole Weinmann. Thanks for their time, energy and good cheer to get the job done!
The Food Pantry distributed over 1,975 pounds of produce provided by the Maryland Food Bank to several hundred Talbot County households over the past few weeks.
Vinnie and Pat's Dinner March 17th

Volunteers and their guests were very happy to attend the first Vinnie and Pat's Dinner held since before the pandemic. A big thank you goes to Donna Horney and Karen Nicosia for co-chairing this festive event; to their committee and the many volunteers who helped that evening. Delicious and plentiful traditional St. Patrick's Day foods were served by Susie's Catering and a good time was had by all! Thanks to Rene Fuentes for taking photographs.
Volunteer Spotlight - Sheila Dyer
Sheila Dyer loves volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul, and it shows. She has made many friends and it's been a big part of her social life for the past five years she has been volunteering. She started with SVdP by visiting people in nursing homes and then joined the furniture department. With 30 years' experience in retail (10 years owning her own business), she has an eye for merchandising. Sheila says that our clients are gracious and knowledgeable, and she has learned a lot from them. She adds that "It’s hard work but as my mother said, 'it makes you strong, inside and out.' "
