Home is a place to build memories. It’s a place of belonging, a place of comfort. A home is a person’s refuge. Imagine being evicted from your home with no place to go. What would you do? What resources would you have? For an estimated 14,000 individuals in Arizona, these are not hypothetical questions—they are a harsh reality.
People experiencing homelessness come from all walks of life. They are someone’s grandparents, daughters, aunts and uncles, moms—the list goes on.
Contrary to some beliefs, homelessness is rarely the result of poor life choices. It’s often the effect of multiple causes such as domestic violence, illness, unemployment, death, and inflation. Many debilitating situations can occur over a lifetime that renders families homeless. How can people successfully rebound when faced with these challenges?
At House of Refuge, we provide families with the opportunities and resources to create the home and life they deserve in a safe and comfortable environment. We offer quality wrap-around services and shelter to support families facing hardships in our community. We celebrate with them as they progress on their journeys to secure stable living situations for themselves and their children.
Our volunteers play a key role in our success! Your contributions significantly enhance the quality of services and the overall environment in the neighborhood, making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
Together, we help families build a positive future and find the homes they need, want, and deserve.
