Volunteers Needed for Outdoor Dining Set-Up on Mono Lane

Every weekend, the Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Fairfax have provided an outdoor seating area in the Mono parking lot (across from Mas Masa on Bolinas) whereby diners can sit and enjoy their take out meals from our local restaurants. This seating venue is available Thursday through Sunday, in light of the restaurant indoor dining restrictions and limited outdoor capacity. The program needs volunteers to help with set-up and take-down on the following dates & times:

Thursday 9a.m. -set up                 8:30 p.m. -take down
Friday 9 a.m. -set-up                     8:30 p.m.- take down
Saturday 9 a.m. set-up                 8:30 p.m. -take down
Sunday, 9 a.m. set-up                   8:30 p.m. -take down

If you are able to help, please email david@fairfaxchamberca.com of commerce or call (415) 456-9604.
Holiday Wreathmaking is Going Virtual This Year

One of the Fairfax Volunteers favorite events, the Annual Holiday Wreathmaking/Caroling/Potluck has had to be adjusted due to COVID-19 and restrictions on large gatherings. This year, we will distribute wreathmaking kits to families in advance of the event.

Please reserve one by e-mailing mbaird@townoffairfax.org. Maria will bring the wreathmaking kits which will consist of a wreath ring, ribbons, decorations, and a “Special Surprise gift” out to your car, on Park Road, near Peri Park. Please contact her early as only 100 kits will be available.

Then, we will host a virtual event via Zoom on Sunday, December 13th from 2-5. An invitation will come in a future e-mail. As part of the gathering, Georgia Gibbs, Artist-in-Resident, and one of our Board members will demonstrate how to make a wreath via Youtube. We are happy to keep this tradition alive, albeit it with changes by offering it remotely this year.
Winter Solstice Sit
Monday, December 21st
5-6pm
Bolinas Park

Solstice comes from the Latin words 'sol', meaning Sun and 'sistere', meaning to come to a stop or stand still.

Join your fellow Fairfax community members to reflect this celestial stillness and sit still yourself. We will literally be sitting in silence together. Please bring any support you'd like for your body, be it a yoga mat, cushion, blanket or even a lawn chair if your body prefers.

Please wear masks and know that we will be sitting 6 feet apart from one another. This is a free event and open to all ages, though it is discouraged
to bring children who are not so easily able to honor the intention of the event. We will be encouraging ALL in attendance to be still and quiet:)

Please bring umbrellas in case of rain.
