Bob Burton has been volunteering with CrossOver's Vision Program at our Richmond Clinic since November of 2015.
Bob has lived in Richmond for 41 years. Together with wife Libby, he raised two sons and currently has three adorable granddaughters. Bob loves to pull out his phone and show everyone the latest pictures of Alice, Margot and Liv.
For 30 years, Bob worked at the Virginia Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired. There, he assisted low-vision individuals in learning to adapt and function well in their daily lives.
After retiring, Bob was looking for volunteer opportunities when he heard about CrossOver at his church (Trinity UMC). When he learned that we have a vision program he knew it would be a perfect fit.
Bob does patient work-ups and visual screenings every Thursday.
He is also an
excellent teacher, and has helped to train most of our new eye clinic volunteers and staff.
Last year he gave more than 250 volunteer hours to CrossOver!
We are so grateful for Bob's service to CrossOver and our patients.
