Worship Online or On Campus This Weekend
Sunday @ 8:15am & 10:45am
Love. It's God's Way.
This Sunday, Pastor Don will kick off a new sermon series: Love. It's God's Way. The first of this multi-part series draws from I Corinthians 13:1-8 and focuses on the fact that love never fails, even through the toughest of times. Jesus told us that in this world, we would have trouble (John 16:33). And this year has been riddled with hardship for many. But even through hurt and heartbreak, disappointment and disaster, love is our answer. Join us this weekend as we dig into the word.
Help us share Jesus' love with others
Our mission as a church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through the transformation of the world. And we do this by inviting people to know Christ, grow in Christ, serve Christ, and share Christ. And that last way, sharing Christ, has never been easier. As we start this new sermon series, help us share Christ with our community by inviting someone to worship with us online. You can share the stream on your page, text the link to a friend, or send it through messenger.
Volunteer Spotlight: Meet the Cains (if you haven't already!)
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of HFUMC. From painting walls and serving our children and youth to greeting attendees and serving communion, the roles our church volunteers play are incredibly diverse and impactful. For this reason, we want to recognize our volunteers. And we're starting with Mark and Cindy Cain.

The Cains have been attending HFUMC since 1991, almost 30 years! In fact, their children went to preschool here. About eight years ago, they started volunteering in the Contemporary Service, and they haven't stopped. You'll find them serving as ushers most Sunday mornings during the 10:45 service. They've also taught Sunday School classes and regularly volunteer for service projects throughout the year. Cindy also helps out in the church office.

Mark and Cindy, thank you for being such faithful servants of the Lord!
Youth were in His HOUSE last weekend
An amazing thing happened last Sunday - our Youth came out to represent! Twenty-one (21) of our middle and high schoolers attended the Contemporary Service, making up almost a fourth the congregation. They were all masked up and ready for worship. If you're counting, not all are pictured.
Summer Studies Conclude, New Adult Offerings Coming Soon
Our online summer studies (The Gospel of Mark and The Apostles' and Nicene Creeds) were a hit. Nearly 25 adults joined the sessions and expressed their gratitude for the new insights gained into the Gospel of Mark, as well as the formational lessons from the Creeds. We want to say a big thank you to Pastor Joshua Strader and Ted Brown for leading these two sessions. The sessions were recorded and can be viewed anytime at hfumc.org/bible-studies.

We do have some new opportunities for adults coming soon. Stay tuned for those announcements! All will be shared here and at hfumc.org/adult.
Confirmation Meeting for 6th Grade Parents POSTPONED
The confirmation parents' meeting that was previously scheduled for this Sunday, August 9, will be postponed until Sunday, September 13 from 5-7pm. The hope is that in postponing this meeting we may be able to meet in person, and we may have a better idea of what elements of confirmation can be offered in person.
