YOU are making a difference!
This year, the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board launched the Volunteer Corps, an initiative for Lakesiders of all ages to help fill the gap of decreased labor in Lakeside by volunteering across the grounds.

We're overwhelmed with gratitude by the excitement and dedication Lakesiders have given through their participation in the Volunteer Corps. More than 200 Lakesiders have come together to complete projects to better our community during these challenging times.

We want express our utmost thanks and appreciation to these hardworking and passionate volunteers who are taking time out of their day to maintain and enhance our special community.
What have YOU helped accomplish?
Here are some of the major projects the Volunteer Corps has taken on this Chautauqua season.

On June 11, more than 50 volunteers worked across the grounds to clean up after a severe storm. They helped pick up branches, rake debris and ensure that the grounds were back in order.

Members of the Volunteer Corps prepared several playgrounds by cleaning, power washing and staining playground equipment at Cherry Park, Perry Park and the Campground. The entrance to the Wellness Center was also power washed by Darrell Waite.
Volunteers helped beautify the grounds by laying new mulch in the Memorial Garden and at the Grindley Aquatic & Wellness Campus, while Ron and Mary Ann Janke led weekly cleanups of the dock and waterfront.

Volunteers have helped staff write thank you letters to donors who have given in support of the Annual Fund this fiscal year.

Groups of Lakesiders assisted at several community events like the Craft & Art Show by encouraging social distancing and answering questions. Volunteers were also crucial in helping to encourage social distancing and distributing water bottles to those participating in Shuffleboard Tournaments.
The Men’s Bible Study Group completed two important projects this summer - painting the fence along the back patio of the Hotel Lakeside and repainting the doors of Hoover Auditorium.

Throughout the season volunteers also worked as ushers at bandstand events, tending to various garden beds, sweeping the Hotel Lakeside porch, setting up and taking down the Wellness Labyrinth and much more! Thank you for your support!
