Volunteer Opportunities
with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank on 2/12 & 3/12 4:00-6:30 PM both dates

The Greater Cleveland Foodbank (GCFB) is asking the Brotherhood of Mishkan Or for volunteers to help with food distribution to it clients on site at the GCFB facility. The FoodBank said that they would welcome 5-10 volunteers from the Mishkan Or on two dates, one in February and another in March. This is a repeat engagement for the Brotherhood. Last November we provided similar volunteer services at the GCFB facility.

The two volunteer events will take place at the GCFB on February 12th from 4:00-6:30 and on March 12th from 4:00-6:30. The volunteer events are open to any male member of the Mishkan Or congregation who is age 21 or older. We are looking to sign up as many as 10 people to volunteer for each event.

Afterwards, the volunteers at these events are invited to join a no-host dinner at Muldoon's Saloon & Eatery, 1020 E 185th St, Cleveland, OH 44119, which is a short drive (7 min) from the Food Bank location. See map links below.

To register to volunteer, send email Jon Messer jonmesser2@gmail.com Tel: 216-650-5485 with your name, phone #, and email address. Indicate which dates are convenient for you, e.g., one or both (2/12 & 3/12). If interested, please sign up before February 5th.

Also, indicate when you register whether you will be joining the group for the no host dinner at Muldoons. This way the restaurant will be prepared to serve our group.

When you attend wear warm clothing for possible outside work in winter (weather permitting) and appropriate footwear. Winter weather can be a challenge in Cleveland. You will be contacted if the weather the day of the event becomes a problem

About the Greater Cleveland Food Bank

Help Neighbors Facing Hunger

The need for food assistance remains high, and it’s up to us to help our neighbors access the food they need to thrive.

In the last year, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and its partners provided services to over 404,000 people! We are proud to work with our partner agencies and programs in the fight against hunger in Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Richland counties.

Nearly 30% of Cleveland residents experienced food insecurity in the past year, more than double the national average. The Food Bank provides food and non-food items to more than 1,000 programmatic partner agencies. These programs include pantries, on-site meal providers, shelters, and other non-profit organizations including children’s after school and summer programs, senior programs, and rehabilitation programs.
