We would also like to recognize, posthumously, the work and  dedication of Ellen Stuban, a founding member of the Rescue Certification Committee.
L-R: Ellen Stuban with Sammy, Cesar Millan, Cheryl Atkins ( November 2012, Windsor, ON)
Her compassion and commitment helped create a national model program and has resulted in many cats and dogs saved from Michigan shelters. The Papill
on rescue group  which she co-founded,  PapAdopters & Placement Service continues  as one the Michigan Certified Rescue organiza tions. Ellen is truly missed, but her spirit lives on within the animal welfare community.

Volunteer Resources

One of the most important components of the No Kill equation is VOLUNTEERS. Successful shelters and rescues use hundreds of hours of volunteer time for every task imaginable: direct animal care; fostering; marketing; spay/neuter, adoption, and fund-raising events; and more.

Does your group need to implement any of these?
  • volunteer/foster application
  • volunteer liability form
  • volunteer manual
