Volunteers Make Their Mark
at Residential Services Center
On a cold and snowy Saturday morning, over 50 volunteers came to the Fannie C. Harris Youth Center to volunteer. Folks from AT&T, Liberty Mutual, Celanese, Girl Scouts, Mr.Cooper, and others gave their time to paint the walls at the residential services center. A special thank you to AT&T for donating supplies for this project.

YourCause Hosts Fundraiser for After8
In December, Kayla Barnes and her team at YourCause spearheaded a fundraising effort to benefit After8toEducate. This was the second year that they chose to support After8, after learning about the collaborative effort to serve some of Dallas’ most vulnerable youth. Thank you to the YourCause team for contributing to After8toEducate!
Benchmark Contract Furniture Donates Cafe Tables for Residential Services
Benchmark Contract Furniture, a leading company for contemporary commercial furniture, has donated tables for the cafe in the residential services wing. Students staying at the center will eat meals and learn about health and nutrition in the cafe. We appreciate Benchmark’s support of homeless Dallas ISD high school students!
In Dallas, Everyone Counts!
On January 23, volunteers spread across the city for the 2020 Point in Time Count. This annual count is facilitated by the Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance, and results will help inform the current needs, conditions, and considerations of our homeless neighbors. A similar count will take place in April specifically focusing on youth homelessness. To learn more email info@after8toeducate.com.
After8toEducate ("After8") is a first-of-its-kind, collaborative effort to support unsheltered youth enrolled in Dallas Independent School District high schools and provide immediate support services for homeless young adults ages 14-21. Powered through Social Venture Partners Dallas, After8 harnesses the strengths of Dallas ISD and nonprofit agencies Promise House and CitySquare.
