An overwhelming majority of Americans are driven to do good and prefer to support companies that do the same, according to the latest Hankook Tire Gauge Index Survey. Nearly all (92 percent) feel it is important for businesses to support volunteering in their community.
Since its founding in 1986, FODAC has given many companies the opportunity to "do good," relying on them for sponsorships, grants, and both cash and material donations. With companies that are based in the metro-Atlanta area, that support sometimes comes in the form of a corporate volunteer. Many companies support corporate volunteer teams that work onsite at FODAC's Stone Mountain headquarters, doing everything from staffing the Thrift Shop to sorting supplies in the warehouse.
Ernst & Young and Cox Business are two of the many corporate sponsors who bring in large volunteer teams on a regular basis. Over the past week, fourteen E&Y volunteers and twelve Cox volunteers worked at FODAC,
providing office support and helping in the warehouse with organizing and sorting mixed medical equipment.
FODAC relies heavily on the over 500 volunteers who annually give back in time and effort. If you're part of an organization, company or group who would like to participate in a community service project, contact Volunteer Coordinator David Carroll at 770.491.0026 x124 or
