Call for Volunteers for 2020 Books Along the Teche
Literary Festival
NEW IBERIA, La. --- The Books Along the Teche Literary Festival, Celebrating New Iberia, Dave Robicheaux’s Hometown, and Great Southern Writers (April 3-5, 2020) is in need of volunteers for the 2020 event.

Whether you are a bookworm or just a New Iberia lover, festival organizers need your help in manning information stations, escorting authors or working at one of their many interesting events.

One of the featured events you may be asked to assist with will be author Osha Gray Davidson's Great Southern Writer Symposium to be held on April 4, at 3 p.m. at the Sliman Theater in downtown New Iberia.

Davidson is the author of The Best of Enemies, Race and Redemption in the New South . The book is a page-turning account of the unlikely friendship between Ann Atwater, an African American activist in Durham, North Carolina, and C.P. Ellis, a local member of the Ku Klux Klan. Davidson’s book is now a major motion picture starring Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell in the leading roles. The film premiered in April 2019.

About the Festival:
The festival is an event of the Iberia Preservation Alliance, formed by Iberia Cultural Resources Association , Bayou Teche Museum , Shadows-on-the-Teche and the New Iberia Main Street Program .
