The Lake Pointe HOA Board unanimously supports the Lake Pointe MUD Prop A bond

Here's what we've been hearing:

• Nobody likes to pay more taxes, we get it. But, you get what you pay for. We believe the MUD's $8 million bond will benefit our whole Lake Pointe community for decades to come.

• Lake Pointe was built in the 1990s and 2000s and it's showing its age. That is what we heard from several local realtors who sell Lake Pointe. "It looks tired." "It needs a more cohesive common area design to compete with newer neighborhoods." We fully support the new rock walls and entrance monuments. No more piecemeal updates. Let's get the job done.

• We're fortunate to have lots of new, younger families with kids who keep our neighborhood vital. They want to enjoy our unique amenities but can see that they need updating--like bathrooms at our community parks for "littles" (which the MUD will build, secure, and maintain).

• We have the ONLY floating dock on Lake Austin--and, miraculously, the MUD has secured a permit from the City of Austin to build a new, larger permanent dock on Lake Austin. However, the clock is ticking. They must begin construction by August--or apply for a one-time, one-year extension. Our current dock is so old, we already lost it in a storm once, when it floated down the river and had to be retrieved. We hear families say that lake access was a major plus in their decision to buy in Lake Pointe.

The HOA Board believes the proposed enhancements will make living in Lake Pointe an even better vibe - and it will certainly increase our resale values for a long time to come. We invite you to come by the community center to see potential renderings of what Lake Pointe might look like in the future.

Please vote FOR the Prop A bond.
