Vote NO on Prop. 33 in November

Proposition 33 (the so-called "Justice for Renters Act") would:

  1. Repeal Costa-Hawkins, allowing rent control for single-family homes and new construction, and giving unelected and unaccountable local officials the power to assess fees on your ADU or single-family home.
  2. Allow cities and counties to implement vacancy control, removing your right to set new tenants' rates to market. This has led to massive housing blight in places like New York.
  3. Worsen California's housing crisis by discouraging new housing development, increasing the costs of providing housing, and encouraging small owners of naturally affordable rental property to sell to condo developers.
  4. Increase costs to hard-pressed local government, while rent reductions will lead many owners to demand property tax re-appraisals.

Prop. 33 will make the housing crisis much worse!
