| | Telehealth & Medicare Claims Advisory | | |
Due to Congress' inability to pass a continuing federal funding resolution on October 1, 2025, questions have been asked relative to the impact on all Medicare payments including telemedicine services. CMS has instructed all Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to continue to temporarily hold claims with dates of service of October 1, 2025, and later for services impacted by the expired Medicare legislative payment provisions passed under the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. As for telehealth services for Medicare, the AAFP's "Telehealth coding updates for 2025" provides an excellent FAQ regarding how payment has been impacted per the different Medicare payment policies (e.g., traditional, MA, commercial, etc.). In Florida, AHCA site clearly states that recipients need to "contact their health plan" via Medicaid Managed Assistance to determine coverage. The FAFP will continue to provide updates as the situation unfolds.

INHALER SELECTION AND TECHNIQUE TRAINING
Selection of an inhaler is integral for patients with respiratory disease, including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Delivery of respiratory medications by inhalation can achieve a higher concentration in the airways, more rapid onset of action, and fewer systemic adverse effects than systemic delivery.1,2 However, correct inhaler technique must be learned and continually reinforced in order for the medication to be delivered effectively.
Poor inhaler technique can lead to poor disease control, increased risk of exacerbations, and increased
adverse effects.1,2 Many patients are unable to use their inhaler correctly, and many health care providers (HCPs) are unable to correctly demonstrate how to use the inhalers they prescribe. It is important for HCPs to choose the best inhaler device for each individual patient and continually train and re-train
themselves and patients on proper inhaler technique. CLICK HERE to read more.
