Time to Vote - We Need Your Help!

Each year The Caring Place is nominated as the "Best Place to Volunteer/Give" in Georgetown and we are excited to announce that this year, we are also nominated as the "Best Non-Profit." As this is a new category, we would now appreciate your vote in these TWO categories! You'll find these categories under "Shopping, Services & Things to Do."

Go cast your votes for various "favorite" businesses today!

Thank you for being part of what makes The Caring Place so special! Your time and talents add to the care we provide in this community.

Upcoming "Sweets & Treats Potluck" is December 7th:

Let's have a Sweets & Treats Potluck together before we enter into the new year!

Bring your sweet goodies to share Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning for us to enjoy Thursday, December 7th, from 9 AM - 11 AM in the 2000 Railroad Avenue Break Room. We will set up a Hot Cocoa bar for you to enjoy with your Volunteer friends and staff!

This is a come-and-go event. All volunteers and staff are invited, regardless of the day you normally volunteer. We can't wait to visit with you! If we miss seeing you, we hope you have a joyful holiday season!

Plaid Day is December 13th:

We always notice people like plaid around here, especially during the fall and winter. This year, the 2nd Annual TCP Plaid Day will be on Wednesday, December 13th! So, break out the plaid and your festive spirit! (Plaid is welcome any day this week!)

Update Your Emergency Contacts:

Let's update our files! From time to time, someone has an emergency at The Caring Place. If that happens to one of our volunteers or staff, we want to ensure we have updated information for your emergency contacts. Please take a moment to email our Volunteer Coordinator with the following info about your local Emergency Contact and/or a Family Member:

  1. Emergency Contacts' First & Last Names
  2. Their Relationship to YOU (ie. son/daughter, spouse, neighbor)
  3. Their Mobile Phone Number
  4. Their Address

Email information to Dennis at dhilgeman@caringplacetx.org.

Please feel free to respond to this email; we will forward the info to him. If your contact has not changed, please send it again to be sure we have the same phone numbers and everything has stayed the same.

Food Drive Reminder:

Hunger Free Holidays is HERE! If you are part of a group that loves holiday Food Drives or would like to contribute to the Food Pantry, this info is for you!

December: Hygiene Items

Targeted drives help The Caring Place use its resources wisely and ensure the community has a wide selection in the Food Pantry. Items may be delivered to the Donations drive through at 2000 Railroad Avenue, Mon-Sat, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

If you need the items weighed for a group Food Drive, you can park in the reserved parking spot on the north side of the building and a Food Pantry team member will assist you in unloading and weighing. This reserved parking spot is available Mon, Tues, Wed and Fri, at 2000 Railroad Avenue, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

To schedule a Food Drive, call 512–943-0738 or email fooddonations@caringplactex.org. It's helpful for us to know about Food Drives ahead of time so we can plan for space in the warehouse.

If you'd like a Hunger Free Holidays Food Drive Flyer for your organization emailed to you, please email Jill Nalley with your request at jnalley@caringplacetx.org.

You may also make monetary gifts at caringplacetx.org/donate to help The Caring Place purchase food where the organization needs it most.
