EMERGE empowers and prepares high-performing students from underserved communities to attend and graduate from selective colleges and universities across the nation. EMERGE is creating a pipeline of future leaders in every industry who aspire to change the world.

EMERGE has the chance to shine on the global stage at SXSW EDU, a vibrant and dynamic event that typically brings together over 40,000 of the brightest minds in education from around the world to tackle complex issues and drive impact to create a new tomorrow for learners everywhere. We've submitted an application to present two panels on the following topics: Imposter Syndrome: A Raw Perspective Educators Need to Hear and EMERGE: A Promising Path for Promoting College Diversity. Now we need your help!

The SXSW EDU PanelPicker is a unique platform that allows the broader community to have a voice in conference programming. PanelPicker votes will account for 30% of the total score for our proposal. We're thrilled to highlight the achievements of EMERGE’s high school class of 2023. Over 500 EMERGE students will be attending 130 prestigious colleges and universities spanning the country from Maine to sunny Southern California. Whether it's an Ivy League institution, a flagship Texas university, or a renowned liberal arts college, these students are spread across the spectrum, demonstrating the varied and dynamic paths to success. It's a tapestry of dreams, ambitions, and futures waiting to be shaped and a testament to what we can achieve together with your generous support.

Rising EMERGE Seniors Explore Future Paths with College Tours

This summer, approximately 400 rising high school seniors embarked on six transformative college tours to explore selective universities, expand their horizons, and prepare for the college application season. These five-day tours unveil a world of possibilities, immersing students in campus life and connecting them with like-minded peers from across Houston who share their ambition and drive. These trips are a stepping stone to success, fostering confidence and preparing students to apply to the college of their dreams. This year, our students visited campuses in Boston, Columbus, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Southern California, and Upstate New York. These firsthand experiences and valuable insights have undoubtably transformed their academic journeys.
