"I Love River North" Happy Hour - March 6

River North Bistro and Twenty-Six Chicago

Join RNRA for the first I Love River North Happy Hour of 2024! Hosted by River North Bistro and Twenty-Six Chicago, it's a great way to start the year off right, reconnecting with friends and neighbors and making new connections.


You will be welcomed with a cocktail at River North Bistro and then head upstairs to Twenty-Six for an open bar with wine, locally crafted beers, delicious appetizers and a stunning view of the city, courtesy of our generous hosts and sponsors and all included in your ticket price.


When: Wednesday, March 6 - 5:30-7:30 pm

Where: River North Bistro, 660 N State Street/Twenty-Six Chicago

Tickets: $40 in advance $50 at the door - Food & Beverage included

Raffle: $250 Gift Certificate to River North Bistro and one night stay for two at EuroStar Magnificent Mile Hotel. Raffle Tickets available at the event - $10 each or 3 for $20.

CAPS Beat Meetings


CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) meetings offer an opportunity to address crime and safety issues directly with the beat officers who patrol our neighborhood, as well as to provide ongoing feedback, which helps the police monitor crime.

Call for Applications for Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA)


The District Council Nominating Committee has announced the commencement of the selection process for the next Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA). Applications for these important positions will be open from January 8, 2024 to February 7, 2024. Applications and details are available on the CCPSA website.

Senior Citizen's Law Enforcement Academy


The Cook County Sheriff’s Office and the Chicago Police Department invite you to attend the Senior Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy. The six-week program provides an overview of the responsibilities of law enforcement agencies in Cook County, including an in-depth look at law enforcement agency operations and specific crime prevention methods, including personal safety, gang and drug awareness, home protection, and avoiding scams and con games. Classes will meet on Wednesdays for six weeks starting April 3, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Moody Church, 1634 N. LaSalle Drive. Registration is required - for more information, click here.

Early Voting and Vote by Mail

for March Primary


Early Voting for the March 19 Presidential Primary Election will open at the Loop Supersite (191 N. Clark) on Thursday, February 15 at 9:00 am. Early Voting in all 50 Wards of Chicago will begin March 4 at 9:00 am. Maggie Daley Field House, located at 337 E Randolph Street, will be the 42nd Ward’s early voting location.  A list of Early Voting sites will be posted to the Board of Elections website

 

Please click here if you would like to apply to Vote-by-Mail. Vote By Mail ballots are scheduled to be sent starting on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

Election Judges Needed


Alderman Reilly is looking for qualified applicants to serve as Election Judges in the 42nd Ward for the upcoming March 19 Presidential Primary and the subsequent November 5, 2024 Presidential Election.

 

Election judges earn $230 for their services, provided they complete a brief training session prior to Election Day.

Tutoring Chicago Needs You!


Tutoring Chicago is seeking individuals to become a volunteer tutor, mentor and role model for a Chicago student in 2024. Tutoring Chicago is the largest one-to-one after-school tutoring program offering consistent long-term pairings of students and volunteers in the Chicagoland area. Chicago Restaurant Week is a celebration of the city’s award-winning culinary scene. Now for the 17th year in a row, Chicago Restaurant Week will take place January 19- February 4. More than 380 restaurants - many in River North! - offer a prix-fixe menu for lunch, dinner, or both.
