Partnership Grant Spotlight
Beautiful in its simplicity, the
Union Congregational Church
sits alongside the Merrimack River in Amesbury. In 2010, neighbors concerned about the church's future pledged to restore the 1835 landmark edifice. Having previously stabilized the main sanctuary, the restoration alliance recently used an Essex Heritage Partnership Grant to replace the church vestry's rotted sill and restore its principal door, sidelights, and trim.
