Vote for our Winning Idea in the
Field Law Community Fund Program Contest
We need your help! The Women's Centre has been selected as a participating charity in the Field Law Community Fund Program Contest. We are one of 123 charities with ideas to support the communities we work with. This year, our idea is Personal Care Items, an important part of the Basic Need Assistance Program. We recognize the needs of women are unique and we would like to support them with the items they require so they can fully participate in their communities. Read more about our idea here.

Voting is easy! There's no need to create an account or give your e-mail address. Simply click this link and press the 'vote' button.

Please vote for our idea and encourage your friends and family to do the same! We value your support!
Calgary's Vital Signs 2016 survey now open
Marking the tenth anniversary of its launch, Calgary's Vital Signs® 2016 is an annual check-up that measures the vitality of Calgary, identifies significant trends and assigns grades in areas critical to the quality of life in Calgary. We hope you will lend your voice to identify needs in the community and provide feedback on how to address issues.

Good luck to all participants in the Scotiabank Marathon!
This weekend, 16 runners will be running or walking in support of the Women's Centre in Scotiabank Calgary Marathon Race Weekend on May 29th. They have been training and fundraising to help us reach our goal of $20,000. We would like to say thank you to them, along with the friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers who sponsored them. If you have time this weekend, come on out and cheer them on during the race! If you would like to support our runners/walkers by making a donation, click here.

Event Volunteers Needed
We are quickly heading into football season and our annual casino to help raise funds for the the Women's Centre. These events are extremely important as the funds raised support the services we provide for women and their families.

Without our volunteers, these events would not be a success! If you are able to volunteer for one (or more) of these events, please sign up at the links below. Male volunteers are also welcome to participate in these events, so please share this with your family and friends.

Food Security in our City

Food hampers are an important resource for thousands of women in Calgary, but what are some other ways we can address food insecurity in our city?

Renee MacKillop from the Alex Community Food Centre, and Miriam Bankey from CUPS hosted an interactive workshop on how communities can change food systems for the better.

Read about it here.
