COVID restrictions and the cancelation of the Pima County Fair didn't keep local FFA (Future Farmers of America) or 4-H students from their goals this year! They were able to sell the animals they worked so hard to raise and care for at the all-virtual Junior Livestock show in April.
We were able to participate for the third year in a row. We purchased a lamb from Emily Wood and a pig from Madison Skomski. (We returned the animals back to the students.)
Participating in these agricultural programs help students develop skills like leadership, public speaking, project planning and more.
Bayer is a proud supporter of 4-H Science Matters, a multi-faceted program to foster a love of scientific exploration in students across urban and rural areas around the country. Through a variety of hands-on learning experiences, more than 250,000 students receive the tools and support they need to deepen their understanding of agri-science and learn how agriculture and science play a key role in their everyday lives.
