ICYMI: Recent ACAA Events

2025 Policy Conference and Leadership Reception Recap

The ACAA hosted its annual Policy Conference and Leadership Reception on October 29 at the Pro-Football Hall of Fame. The event welcomed nearly 150 business leaders, community stakeholders, and elected officials for an evening of networking and camaraderie.

Senator Jane Timken and Representative Bill Roemer shared timely updates on key issues and activities within the legislature, including the State Capital Budget and property tax reform.

Roundtable with Senator Jerry Cirino

The ACAA hosted two roundtable discussions with Senator Jerry Cirino, Chair of the Senate Finance Committee, on October 23 at the Greater Akron Chamber and the Employers Health office in Canton.

During both sessions, Senator Cirino addressed several key issues that could significantly impact businesses across the greater Akron-Canton region. Notable takeaways included the property tax proposals currently moving through the legislature, as well as the much anticipated State Capital Budget.

These discussions provided a valuable opportunity for regional stakeholders to engage directly with elected officials and share insights into the work being done to strengthen our communities.

Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance Meeting

On Friday, October 24, Representative Bill Roemer joined our bi-monthly ACAA meeting to provide members with key information on the House’s various property tax bills and shared insights on the anticipated process for the State Capital Budget.

Click here for a one-pager outlining the property tax bills that were recently passed in the House with bipartisan support.

Please note: There will be no ACAA meeting in December. Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, January 23, 2026 at 8:30 a.m. Stay tuned for more details.

As the Akron-Canton Advocacy Alliance works to foster economic growth and collaboration across the region, we continue to host a series of events designed to inform, connect, and empower our business community. These gatherings bring together industry experts, policy makers, and stakeholders to discuss key issues shaping Ohio’s future. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities where members will have the chance to engage with elected officials in meaningful dialogue and contribute to the advancement of our shared goals.
