Supervisor of Elections, Wesley Wilcox reminds Marion County residents that Tuesday, February 18 is the deadline to register to vote and change party affiliation for the March 17 Presidential Preference Primary and City of Ocala Special Election.
Florida is a Closed Primary State. In Primary Elections, voters registered with no party affiliation (NPA) are not eligible to vote for political party candidates. Only voters who are registered members of political parties may vote for respective party candidates or nominees in the primaries. Voters must be registered with their party of choice 29 days before a Primary Election.
Already registered voters do not need to re-register but are encouraged to verify their voter registration is accurate and up-to-date at www.VoteMarion.Gov. Marion County residents can register or update their voter information online at www.RegisterToVoteFlorida.Gov or in person at the Elections Office or any public library or tax collector office. Applications must be postmarked or received by the Elections Office no later than February 18. The Elections Office will remain open until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, to allow additional time for new registration and updates.
