2020 Election Voter Information - Voting Options

With the 2020 General Election approaching, and the COVID-19 crisis still prevalent in our community, it is important to consider all your voting options. There are three ways to vote: early voting, voting by mail, and voting at your local precinct on election day. Information on early voting sites, dates and times can be found leonvotes.org/Voters/Early-Voting/Early-Voting-Polls ; be sure to bring a picture ID with your signature, to verify your identity. You can cast your ballot at the early voting location convenient to you, up to two weeks prior to the election.

Guidance for Your Legacy Giving
People want to feel that their life mattered - they want to put their stamp on the future! Please join three local members of the Capital City Trust Company team on Wed., Aug. 5 at 11 am - noon , as they lead a discussion on ways to make a present and future charitable gift. We’ll talk about the assortment of popular charitable strategies and methods including the use of bequests, insurance, individual retirements accounts, and trusts. Five Feet High and Rising: The Geology and History of Great Floods, Thursdays, July 23 & 30, 1:30 - 3 p.m. Hydrogeologist Joe Haberfeld will introduce the stream processes which transport water and sediment during normal flow and during floods. Examine the history and sources of some of the great floods in America and around the world. This is a 2- session class.
Breakfast Around the World: Preparing an English Breakfast, Wed., Jul. 29 @ 10 am . Virtually join Chef Jessica Bright McMullen of Tallahassee’s KitchenAble Cooking School and Catering on as she teaches you to prepare a traditional English breakfast.
L3X Virtual Launch Party, Thu., Aug. 20, 6 - 7:30 pm. Practice Health & Fitness at Home!
We know you have been missing your weekly blood pressure checks in the health suite, as well as the loving foot care provided by Dr. McCoy. Last Friday on Facebook we shared part one of our Healthy at Home Series - Foot Care at Home, presented by the FS U College of Nursing . Click here - in case you missed it - to discover ways to keep your feet healthy including how to examine your feet, what to look for, how to care for your skin and nails, and when to seek help. This coming F riday, July 24 at 10 am on our Facebook page (tagged to the top), plan to watch “Monitoring Blood Pressure at Home.” The nursing students will share what the blood pressure numbers mean, what your equipment options are, how to accurately take your own BP, and when to call the doctor.
The Psycho-Social Impact of Covid and Social Injustice: Examining our Own Views, Wed., Aug. 12, 1 - 3:00 pm. Virtually join UPSLIDE as they bring a thought-provoking presentation by Kenneth Fowler, PhD, LMHC, that explores the psychological and social impacts of this historic landscape of pandemic and social unrest that we find ourselves in. There is much to consider in terms of understanding the forces at work and is an opportunity to explore how individuals can cope, adapt, and become agents of positive change. Staying active is one of the most important things we can do to keep healthy and age successfully.
