Electoral College Vs. National Popular Vote Interstate Compact
|
|
On Friday's Election Integrity meeting we were joined by NFRW's Chair of Election Integrity, Besa Martin, who educated us on the Electoral College and an effort known as the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact - an effort to eliminate the Electoral College and instead elect our President and Vice-President by a national popular vote.
|
|
For years liberals have been frustrated by the influence of smaller states via the Electoral College. Known to the coastal elites as "fly over country" they think you and me and all non-metropolitan or urban voters just have too much power. Eliminating the Electoral College would take an amendment to the constitution, something the founders purposely made difficult. The work around for these activists is to have like-minded, left leaning states band together and pledge to cast their states' electoral votes for the winner of the popular vote. If the champions of this effort can get states representing a majority of the Electoral College votes to agree to this compact, they'll effectively have implemented the national popular vote without the burden of actually amending the constitution.
|
|
Could this actually happen? They've already gotten states representing 72% of the Electoral College votes they need to achieve a majority to sign on! Watch the full meeting to learn more about this effort and what you can do to help preserve the Constitution, the Electoral College and the values of millions in our rural states!

Redistricting Testimony Assistance
|
|
As you know, I've been working with TFRW and other activists to encourage folks to testify at hearings about the upcoming redistricting debate. It's important that Republicans and regular Texans - as opposed to just left wing activists - have their voices heard. The Lost Pines Republican Women group has gone above and beyond to empower Texans to engage who may need extra encouragement and additional tools to build confidence. Read below to view their efforts and for inspiration for your own communities!
Redistricting Testimony Assistance:
We are holding a Redistricting Testimony Assistance roundtable at our Club House in Bastrop. We will have our Board Members there, along with Members who are passionate about preserving our strength in our Districts to assist anyone who wants to provide input/testimony.
- We gathered “talking points” from TFRW and your website and have had discussions about them in a prior meeting.
-
We researched the TLO link on Redistricting, to review testimonies that have already been submitted and for more examples of “issues” that we can address in our group. This is a great exercise that gives insight, not only into the issues that affect us, personally, but how to COUNTER the testimonies of those who are clearly, Democratic positions. This is the page with links to Written Testimonies (scroll down to “Public Comments from the Committee Portal”): The Texas State Senate – Senate Special Committee on Redistricting
-
We will be educating attendees on how to locate the website area for submitting testimony, so they can share their experience, after our meeting to help someone else. The Texas State Senate – E-mail Comment Form Note: someone can draft their testimony as a .doc, .docx, .pdf, .txt or .cvs file and “attach” it, without retyping. If so, we encourage a brief note, letting them know that you are submitting via an attachment.
-
Emphasize, that there are only two Hearings left and the cutoff for any testimony, is March 11th , so submitting ASAP, is imperative.
-
To encourage public testimony, we are showing how to register in advance, online at: This is the link for the Hearings. It is important to note, that you are eligible to provide testimony at/for ANY Hearing; you do not need to reside in the area of Focus.
- We are bringing in our laptops and will have the TLO website up for reference on our big screen.
-
Through group and one-on-one discussion, we will help each other craft a completely, personalized letter to submit as testimony. We are emphasizing the personalization, so that we can ensure our testimonies are taken seriously and are not viewed as just a “copy/paste” submission!
-
We will help each person, submit their testimony, directly to the TLO website, before they leave!
Thank you Lost Pines Republican Women!

H.R. 1 – "For the Politicians Act"
H.R. 1 mandates unconstitutional changes to our electoral process through a top-down federal power grab designed to ensure that Democrats have overwhelming advantages in all future elections and reverses the longstanding history of state control of the electoral process. In addition, H.R. 1 places unprecedented limitations on political speech and is designed to ensure that activists have all the information they need to expand cancel culture to every corner of our society. Rather than strengthening the election process by working with Republicans to find bipartisan solutions, H.R. 1 was written without any input from Republican Members.
H.R.1
- Forces States to allow same day registration, early voting, automatic voter registration, online voter registration, and no-fault absentee balloting.
- No verification that a person is legally entitled to vote.
- massive voter registration fraud by hackers and cyber criminals through online voter registration.
- Requires states to count ballots cast by voters outside of their assigned precinct.
- Takes away state’s ability to set voter qualifications.
- Prevents election officials from checking the eligibility and qualifications of voters and remove ineligible voters.
- Removes U.S. Postal Service change of address data to prove voter moved (2018 Supreme Court - 24 million are invalid or inaccurate voter addresses).
- Prohibits using national voter lists to prevent voting in more than 1 state.
- Prevents States from getting data to enforce voter qualifications.
- Forces States to allow Felons to vote – Creating Pirate Government – those breaking laws elect their leader.
- Allow private lawsuits to sue under Help America Vote Act. - target election administrators.
- Forces States to Create redistricting commissions.
- not subject to election by voters, no recourse against commissions.
- Concentrates more power in D.C.
- if redistricting commission fails to adopt a plan, Federal Court creates the districts.
- Reduces the number of Federal Election Commission members from six to five, allowing the political party with three commission seats to control the commission and engage in partisan enforcement activities.

RNC Statement Celebrating Women's History Month
|
WASHINGTON — Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel released the following statement celebrating March as Women’s History Month:
"Throughout the month of March we honor the incredible achievements of women throughout our nation’s history and celebrate the countless – and often underappreciated – ways women contribute to making our society a better and more equal one today. The Republican Party was founded on the principle of equality, and our Party has always been proud to champion the causes of women, including by pioneering the women’s suffrage movement. This year we can celebrate the fact there are more Republican women serving in Congress today than at any point in our country’s history.
This Women’s History Month is also a timely reminder that women-owned small businesses are bearing the brunt of Democrat-imposed lockdowns which are causing women to drop out of the workforce in record numbers. Now more than ever, Republicans are fighting for policies that open our businesses, open our schools, and empower women to succeed in the workforce and realize the American dream of their choosing."
