Update on MyScouts and Data Breach - Jan. 12
Over the last week Scouts Canada has been working with our security experts to meticulously harden and secure MyScouts before opening it to all users. We are close to completing this work and anticipate that MyScouts will be available next week – we are aiming for early in the week.

We will be implementing a queueing system for when MyScouts reopens to ensure that pent-up demand does not slow down the system. However, we would request that users consider prioritizing access to new registrants or members who are renewing and only access the system if necessary, during off-peak hours.

We will be sending reminders to those who need to complete their Respect in Sport and those who have not yet renewed.

The protection of your personal information is critically important to us, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you for your patience.
Scouters' Clubs!
Voyageur Council is excited to start a new Scouters’ Network! It will be a monthly get-together for each Section (i.e. Colony Scouters, Pack Scouters, etc.) that will be running in a facilitated, virtual format.

Welcome to the Adirondack Adventure 2023!
This is a self guided program to take senior sections to the Lake Placid NY area to hike on snowshoes in the Adirondack mountains. Participating Groups are responsible for their own accommodations, travel and meals.

What we do is provide equipment for rent at a nominal cost and ask for a $5 per person participation fee. Groups choose the mountain they wish to climb. Maps are available here and the sign up form is contained within the Information Package.

Contact Scouter Dave Skinner for details.
Rideau Hall Winter Celebration
Rideau Hall’s Winter Celebration is back in-person and will take place on Saturday, February 11, 2023, during the second weekend of Winterlude. We are looking for Scouters and youth to join us in making the day spectacular! If you are interested in running an activity, or helping throughout the day and sharing your love of Scouting with the public, please contact Brittiny at Brittiny.catalano@scouts.ca.
YLT Mobile Workshop Team
In an effort to build confident and well-rounded youth leaders, and emphasize youth-led in all sections and programs, we are looking to build upon the Youth Training Framework, with a team that aids and procures the implementation of Youth Leadership Training (YLT) in group or section programming in Voyager of all ages, from Beavers all the way up to Venturers.

We are looking for Enthusiastic Venturer/Rover aged youth who are interested in being part of this team, and are willing to take on a mentoring and support role, to help guide youth into being great leaders.

Scouts Night with the Ottawa 67s

Scouts Night with the Ottawa 67s will be held February 24th this year at 19:00, with the option of a sleepover. Cost is $25 per person. Click here for event flyer.
Vimy Foundation
The Vimy Foundation is placing history at the forefront of community leadership. Vimy Inspires Tomorrow encourages youth ages 13 to 17 to apply lessons from history to create transformative community projects.

Six activities drawing on different aspects of First World War history enable participants to examine, discuss, and exercise key leadership skills, all of which can be applied to their daily lives as they become leaders of tomorrow. Youth who complete one or more activities can submit a one-page proposal for a community project to be eligible for additional leadership training and a $1,500 community project grant.

A facilitator's guide is also available with information about the activities, which are designed to adapt to online or in-person formats. The deadline to submit a one-page proposal is January 31, 2023 but the activities are available online all year round. Participate today! For more information, please visit https://vimyfoundation.ca/programs/vimy-inspires-tomorrow
2023 World Men's Curling Championship
The 2023 World Men’s Curling Championship will be held at TD Place in Ottawa from April 1st
to April 9th, 2023. The organizers are looking to encourage exposure to this game at an early age as well as give area youth the opportunity to partake in the action of the actual event. They can provide activity booklets to help promote the sport of curling, and are also offering free tickets to one of the draws on Saturday April 1st or Sunday April 2nd on a first come, first served basis. Click here for more information.
Message on Waitlist from the CK3
The CK-3 would like Group Commissioners to contact those on the waitlist or to have their registrar contact them and to actively manage the placement of youth who remain on the lists. This means finding another group for the youth to enroll in or possibly adding sections to accommodate them as possible. Please contact your Group Support Scouter or Scouting Relationship Manager should you want some help with managing the list - they would be pleased to assist you. In Voyageur Council, we want to find a place in Scouting for every youth who would like to join the organization.

Program & Activity Modifications — STAGE 5
The Stage 5 pandemic Standard no longer has a requirement for using the
Modified Adventure Application Form (MAAF) but will return to our previously established procedure of using the Adventure Application Form (AAF) referenced in

With this return to our previously established procedure, and with many new volunteers and youth members having not experienced this procedure, please see the following resources:

For more information about current provincial restrictions from the government, you can access the Ontario COVID-19 website or the Quebec COVID-19 website.

As a reminder to all Scouters, for your own safety and the safety of our youth and communities, you must follow public health guidelines at all times.

When in doubt, follow the most restrictive guideline.
Scouts Canada Annual Report
In the 2021–2022 Annual Report, in addition to reporting on our organization's operations, we'd like to showcase a few stories of members doing something differently or trying something new — to continue to deliver great Scouting programs. We want to celebrate the youth who went on an adventure for the first time ever, or at least for the first time in two years.
