It has been a busy few weeks for our Métis Government, filled with opportunities to celebrate, connect, and strengthen our community.
Earlier this month, the Michif Women’s Gathering celebrated the strength and leadership of Métis women. This year’s theme, Honouring Our Aunties, reminded us of the vital role matriarchs play in preserving our culture and guiding future generations.
Yesterday, I attended the Official Announcement of the 2027 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) Dates. The 2027 NAIG in Calgary will be a platform for our youth to showcase their athleticism, resilience, and cultural pride. I look forward to cheering on our Métis athletes on the National Stage!
Next week, we host the Business Mixer & Economic Development Summit, fostering connections and growth for Métis entrepreneurs. I encourage all business owners to take part in this exciting opportunity.

Children and Family Services Secretary Brooke Bramfield is a proud member of the Callihoo family. With expertise in communications, government relations, and grant writing, she has also worked with McMurray Métis. Passionate about supporting Métis children and families, she leads efforts to secure long-term funding and expand culturally grounded services. Key initiatives include the Day Home Startup Pilot Program and the Flourishing Futures Accessibility Grant. Note: The District where you are eligible to vote is determined by your physical address, not your mailing address. Ensure your address is correct by going to the Citizen Contact Information Portal.
Mail-In Voting
Mail-In Voting packages have been sent out for the 2025 Spring District By-Elections. Check your mailbox and send in your ballot to ensure your vote is counted!
Ballot packages must be mailed by April 3 to ensure it is received no later than the close of voting.
**Close of voting for Wabasca-Desmarais Métis District has been extended to April 13 for mail-in ballots only due to mail disruptions. In-Person voting remains open April 5-7.

Rooted in Métis culture, the FASD Bridging Futures Program supports Métis youth (aged 15–25) with FASD on their journey to adulthood. Through a collaborative approach, we provide resources, transition support, and connection to Métis culture.
Eligibility: Métis youth in Alberta, with or without a diagnosis, willing to actively participate (caregiver consent may be required).
