As we wrap up November, I want to thank every Citizen who helped make this year’s Métis Week our largest and most attended yet. From flag raisings and the Louis Riel Commemorative Ceremony to gatherings across Alberta, it was powerful to stand alongside so many proud Métis families honouring our history and culture.
This month also brought moments of remembrance. On Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, we paid tribute to Métis veterans and all those who served. Their courage shaped the freedoms we hold today, and we remember their contributions.
As we move into December and the final weeks of 2025, please keep an eye out for holiday gatherings and community events happening across the province. I hope to see many of you there.

Ross “Memphis” Pambrun
Ross “Memphis” Pambrun is a proud Métis business leader, speaker, and host of the hit television series Red River Gold. In this show, Ross and his team embark on a quest to find a lost trove of gold coins that were on their way to fund a military force heading to confront Louis Riel during the Red River Resistance but mysteriously disappeared. With a background as a firefighter, nurse, and tech innovator, Ross blends service, storytelling, and cultural leadership in all that he does. Through Red River Gold, he brings Métis history to life by searching for lost treasure while sharing stories of resistance, resilience, and connection to the land.

Navigating cancer can be challenging, but support is available. Wellspring Alberta’s Indigenous Cancer Sharing Circle provides a safe and welcoming space for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis adults living in Alberta.
Whether you have been impacted by cancer yourself or through supporting a loved one, this monthly virtual gathering is co-led by an Elder or Knowledge Keeper and a Wellspring program leader, and ensures no one has to face cancer alone.

Frosty Reels: Save the Date
Frosty Reels Family Camp returns this February at Camp Maskepetoon, Pigeon Lake. Bundle up for Métis fun, fishing, and family memories!

The theme of the anthology will be the Seasons of Life, beautifully written by Cree Nomad. The theme prompts us to consider not only the physical transformation of each season but the mental and spiritual transitions we experience throughout them.
