Veterans' Day Events in DC


Tuesday, November 11 is Veterans' Day, a day of acknowledgement for the sacrifice of service of all past members in the United States military. A few events in DC include the annual Military Women's Memorial Veterans' Day ceremony, which the Diné Saani Silaltsoi Color Guard Team will participate in, and a memorial ceremony held by the National Museum of the American Indian that will recognize the service of Native Americans.

Trump Nominates Former New Mexico Congressman to Lead Bureau of Land Management


Last week, President Trump nominated Steve Pearce, a former New Mexico congressman and oil industry business owner, to serve as director of the Bureau of Land Management. The agency oversees approximately 245 million acres of public land and about 700 million acres of subsurface mineral rights nationwide, including areas adjacent to the Navajo Nation and its cultural sites in the Southwest.

Federal Aviation Administration Announces Flight Cancellations


Beginning Friday, November 7, 2025, airports across the United States will follow the Federal Aviation Administration's order to reduce flights as a result of the federal government shutdown. According to an official statement, the flight capacity of 40 "high traffic" airports will be reduced by 10% in order to make it easier for air controller officials, who have been working for over a month without getting paid due to the shutdown.
