Diné Saani Silatsoi Color Guard Honors Veterans


On Wednesday, November 11, members of the Diné Saani Silaltsoi Color Guard had the honor of serving as the flag bearers for the Veterans Day ceremony at the Military Women's Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. During the ceremony, the two members also spoke during the event, discussing the unique experiences of service and return to civilian life that our Diné warriors have lived.

NNWO Deputy Executive Director Provides Reflective Comments at Dr. Jane Goodall Memorial Service


On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, NNWO Deputy Executive Director DeWayne Crank provided reflective comments at the Memorial Service for renowned Primatologist and Anthropologist Dr. Jane Goodall.


NNWO Shares Navajo History and Code Talker Legacy with Ingleside Residents


This week, NNWO staff delivered a presentation titled "The Language that Won the War" at Ingleside at King Farm's Engaged Living Senior Community near Washington, D.C.



The Federal Government Shutdown is Over


On Wednesday, November 12, President Trump signed a Continuing Resolution bill passed by Congress on the same day. After 43 days, the longest government shutdown ended when eight Senate Democrats voted yes on the Continuing Resolution that would, for most of the government, extend last year's spending levels through the end of January.

Relatives with whom we share the land - black bear in Navajo Nation

National Geographic


Deandra Jones (Navajo), a National Geographic Explorer and biologist, is studying black bears on the Navajo Nation. The five year project is investigating the bears' habitat and how communities can encourage positive interactions between humans and bears, with support from the Native American Fish and Wildlife Society, Navajo Nation Department of Fish and Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the National Geographic Society.
