NNWO Director Vince Redhouse Encourages Native Law Students to Lead with Excellence at UCLA Career Panel


On Thursday, October 30, 2025, NNWO Director Vince Redhouse participated in a virtual career panel for the UCLA Native American Law Students Association chapter. The panel provided students with practical advice on navigating law school, pursuing opportunities in both tribal and federal sectors, and maintaining cultural connection while advancing in demanding legal environments.

Cortez Masto, Mullin Introduce Bill to Address MMIP Crisis and Empower U.S. Marshals to Assist Tribal Law Enforcement


On October 23, 2025, Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) introduced the Tribal Warrant Fairness Act, which aims to strengthen cooperation between tribal and federal law enforcement agencies in responding to fugitives and missing persons cases by authorizing the U.S. Marshals Service to execute tribal arrest warrants and to assist tribal law enforcement in locating missing children when requested by tribal governments.


Mobile Food Assistance in Arizona as SNAP Benefits Expire and Federal Shutdown Continues


As the federal government shutdown enters its fourth week, the Navajo Nation was notified that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will expire on Friday, October 31, 2025, with no clear plan for reinstatement or reimbursement of missed payments. NNWO is now coordinating efforts to identify relief options and help mitigate food shortages across the Nation.



Senate Democrats Hold a Conference on SNAP Emergency Funds


On Wednesday, eight Democrat Senators held a conference to address the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program's Emergency Funds, as well as the current government shutdown. All eight Senators discussed the government shutdown, the cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, and the SNAP Emergency Fund.
