Finals can be a stressful time for students so here are some things you can do to help!
- Encourage Self Care: Remind your student to get regular sleep, take breaks, get outside, socialize, and eat regular meals.
- Work Smart Not Hard: Break large projects/studying for exams exams up into sections, attend study sessions, & go to office hours. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
- Moral Support: Call your student and offer words of encouragement, make sure they know you are there for them, and reassure them of their efforts.
In addition, a great resource for students is
William & Mary's Health & Wellness Center. The wellness center provides free classes, workshops, and mindfulness initiatives for students to help manage stress. Students are also invited to stop by the FYE tables in Sadler and Swem for apple cider, hot cocoa, study supplies, and some extra study motivation!

William & Mary's most treasured holiday tradition is the annual Yule Log Ceremony, held this year on December 14th. During the ceremony, the entire William & Mary student body squeezes into the Wren Courtyard to enjoy music, food, and speeches. Afterwards, students file into the Wren Building to throw a ceremonial holly sprig into the yule log fire for good luck. If you would like to attend the ceremony but cannot make it to campus, there will be over 30 ceremonies held across the country.

As the semester draws to a close, your students may be thankful for the academic support they have received at the Tribe TutorZone. The Parents Fund provided scholarships to students with high financial need, giving them access to over 200 hours of tutoring in just the first two months of the semester. Thank you for giving students the resources they need to be successful!
“The Tribe TutorZone provided me with tools of organization and preparedness that fit my needs. My tutor was very kind and patient with me and helped me organize events and assignments that were at times very stressful for me to handle.”
Please consider a gift to the Parents Fund this Giving Tuesday and throughout the year!
