Brittany Davies Lands NBAA 40 under 40

Congratulations to Brittany Davies, NBAA’s Northeast Regional Director, on securing the prestigious Top 40 Under 40 Award!


Our first Executive Director from 2015-2017, Brittany has continued to be a part of our WAA Community serving as an honorary Board Member. Davies has been a huge advocate for the airport community and has been an integral part of keeping the region informed on upcoming legislation directly affecting our daily flight operations, especially her notable efforts on New York's "Stop the Chop" legislation. 


Brittany also is a multi-engine, instrument, and commercial rated pilot. Other experience includes charter scheduling and sales, hangar development, aerial photography, and in 2007 was a founding member for the Colorado Business Aviation Association. Davies also serves as a Board Member for the Westchester Aviation Maintenance Association, WAMA, among many other regional groups.

In our 4th Quarter 2023 WAA/ATC meeting, we'll welcome Wycliffe Walcott as new Tower Chief, and we'll have a NY Tracon briefing on the Snow Bird routes south for Thanksgiving and the holidays. All this in addition to taking questions, and hearing updates from the airport manager and the Tower. 


WINGS Credits will be available for attendees on both ZOOM and in-person. 

In-person seating is limited.

FlightSafety International Hosts WAI Girls in Aviation Day

Safety Day Speaker Michael Burger and his team at FlightSafety International hosted young ladies from The RedTail Flight Academy and the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey for this years Westchester County Chapter of Women in Aviation (WAI), Girls in Aviation Day.


The girls got to experience flight crew training, physics of flight, safety survival, and fly a flight simulator. Jabili Kandula, Associate Editor at WAI shared information about WAI's free Junior Membership so they can enjoy all the WAI benefits and resources, including the ability to apply for up to three WAI scholarships.

The WAI would like to thank Michael Burger, Paula Francisco, Gerald Lopez and the many other FlightSafety instructors who gave their undivided attention to these young ladies.


WAI would also thank Joanne Cassar, WAI Vice President, who was a huge part in securing the facility working with FlightSafety in creating such a fantastic experience, and the generosity and sponsorships of Million Air White PlainsAir Culinaire Worldwide, Westchester Aviation Maintenance Association, and Christine Negroni.

Our annual food drive collecting food for Feeding Westchester has begun!
