Dear Friends,
As the leaves turn and the crispness of fall settles in, I find myself welcoming the season with its cozy comforts. Just last night, I turned on my heat for the first time this season, and this morning, I even used a space heater to take the chill out of the air. For me, it was a simple decision, but for so many in our community, it’s not that easy.
For families struggling to make ends meet, the thought of turning on the heat brings more than warmth—it brings worry. The average cost to fill a propane tank is around $1,000, a daunting expense for those already stretched thin. October is Energy Awareness Month and a reminder that while Fall can be a season of comfort for many, it’s also a time of concern for others.
At WAMY Community Action, we believe no one should have to choose between staying warm and paying their bills. That’s why our Bridges Program can often provide heat assistance to low-income families in need.
But we can’t do it without your help.
This October, I invite you to join us in making a difference. A donation of just $25 can help a neighbor fill their fuel tank and face the colder months with peace of mind. Together, we’ve proven time and again that our community can accomplish so much when we come together.
Let’s ensure that everyone in our community can stay warm this season—without worry.
With gratitude,
