One of the goals since I have sat in this chair, is to provide quality education in an effort to help make our member businesses more successful! This is one of those trainings that should do just that!

Though it may sound costly, Dr. Robert Sicora, a Buffalo native, is giving us his consultation time for free! This is a great savings - an opportunity like none other! The cost covers the use and results of the profile/assessment piece. Robert has 20+ years of consulting experience and travels the globe sharing his expertise on organization and leadership development and process management. He has worked for Carlson Companies, Cargill, Pillsbury and now us!!

This training will be great for anyone who leads of team of 1 or 21! It will help you discover how to be a better leader - and how to interact with others and their leadership style. Read more below! I took the assessment and it's amazing what you discover about yourself!

The training is an afternoon and morning, so that the assessment results can be discussed on day 2. IT's a time commitment well worth it to get training that won't often come your way!

Please register you and your staff - it's an invaluable investment in your business! Register by Monday, November 4th!

Was a great turn out at Coldwell Banker! We learned about what home buyers see as priority, which has changed some over the years! BUFFALO COMMUNITY ORCHESTRA OPEN THEIR 25th SEASON

Brass Spectacular
Sunday, October 27th 2 p.m.
Buffalo High School Performing Arts Center
877 Bison Blvd, Buffalo

Come hear the BCO brass section, the Buffalo High School Jazz Ensemble and Bob Baca as guest on the trumpet! Baca is a Professor of Trumpet and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He has performed with the Milwaukee Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as legendary singers Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Also Buffalo's own Joyce Lyons will be a guest jazz vocalist. Lyons is a resident of Buffalo, but has spent over thirty years performing in New York. She is currently the vocalist for the West Metro Big Band and is a board member of the Central Minnesota Arts board.

Ranging from the Renaissance era to contemporary jazz, this concert has a variety of pieces sure to entertain music lovers of all types! Every piece in the program will highlight the brass, as hinted by the title of the concert. One such piece is Giovanni Gabrieli’s Canzon duodecimi toni, from Sacrae Symphoniae, the composition that made Giovanni’s name. The piece features a double brass choir, which meant that if played in a Renaissance church, the two ensembles would be separated by the audience and would perform music facing each other. Bach’s famous Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring will also be performed, in an arrangement that features a trumpet solo performed by Baca. The concert will close with a piece that was dedicated to and was commissioned by Doc Severinsen: Frank Proto’s A Carmen Fantasy for Trumpet and Orchestra.

IT'S TIME TO GET OUT AND VOTE - AND YOU CAN VOTE EARLY!

If you live in the Buffalo School District - you have received information about the upcoming Operating Referendum. Students are our future leaders and business owners in our community. We want them to have a good education and want them to stay or return to Buffalo as future business leaders as you all are! We also want Buffalo to continue to be a place that people want to live, and having a quality school district is a key factor in that decision. The District is making it easy to vote - even mailing your early voting ballots! Otherwise polling places are Buffalo High School, Hanover City Hall and Montrose Community Center on Tuesday, November 5th from 7 a.m to 8 p.m. If you have questions please call 763-682-0877 or email your questions!
