As the sunshine returns and our community begins to bloom, We Are Oglesby is in full planning mode for an exciting year ahead! We’re especially thrilled to announce a brand new event coming this fall, our very first Classic Car Show, rolling into town this September! It’s going to be a great addition to our calendar, and we can’t wait to see Oglesby shine with chrome and community spirit!
We’re also kicking off our new Member Mixer series, a monthly gatherings hosted by local businesses where the community can connect and collaborate. Mark your calendars:
Portraits-N-More on May 21
Lizzie’s Lounge on July 16
Starved Rock Lodge on August 20
Archway Tap & Garzanelli’s on September 17
Deer Park Golf Club on October 15
June is still open, so let us know if your business would like to host!
Don't forget, there's still time to apply for our $1,000 Community Grant (details below).
Plus, we’ll be looking for helping hands for several upcoming projects:
Tag Day (date TBD)
Memorial Park Cleanup the morning of May 18
Landscaping at Lehigh Park (date TBD)
If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and pitch in, we’d love your support. You can contact president@weareoglesby.net if you are interested in volunteering!

Oglesby Public Library District Trustees Adjust Hours of Operations
Due to increasing operational costs, the library is temporarily adjusting operational hours.
Effective May 1, 2025, the library will be closed on Fridays, the least busy day in terms of foot traffic. This change is temporary while long-term solutions for opening six days a week are explored.
The library maintains the flexibility to host programs on Fridays. The Board’s priority is to provide a high-quality library for the voting district. Given our community’s population, maintaining a five-day a week schedule is still a remarkable commodity.
The library sincerely appreciates our patron’s continued support and the Board of Trustees remain committed to ensuring the library serves our community for generations to come.
