Let’s kick off 2025 with some exciting news! As we look ahead, We Are Oglesby is thrilled to announce a brand-new addition to our community calendar. Our new Member Mixer Networking Events will take the place of our formal meetings. This is a great opportunity for members to connect in a relaxed setting, exchange ideas, and build relationships that strengthen our community. We can’t wait to see how these mixers bring our organization even closer together!
In addition to this exciting new event, we’re also working hard to ramp up our ever-popular Fun Fest Kickoff Party and Ducky Derby in 2025! Stay tuned for more details as we finalize plans!

Daley's Super Service
Daley's Super Service traces its roots back to 1924 when a determined 19-year-old, Thomas J. Daley, founded T.J. Daley Transfer. Operating out of a small home on S. Kenosha Ave in Oglesby, the business quickly gained momentum, prompting a move to W. Walnut St. in 1929. What began as a trucking and moving company soon evolved into a full-service operation, offering gasoline, home heating coal, fuel oil deliveries, block ice, and, eventually, automobile repair and towing services.
For generations, Daley’s Super Service has remained a proud family-run business, with each Daley family member playing a role in its success. Today, Dan Daley continues to carry on the legacy, preserving the tradition of dedication and service that has made Daley’s a cornerstone of the community.

Illinois Offers Up to $245K in Grants for Small Businesses | |

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is offering a new Small Business Capital and Infrastructure Grant Program, providing $10,000 to up to $245,000 for eligible small businesses to fund capital improvements. With $10 million in total funding available, the program prioritizes socially and economically disadvantaged businesses (SEDI) and very small businesses (VSBs) with fewer than 10 employees. Grant funds can be used for building upgrades, site improvements, equipment purchases, and facility expansions.
Applications are open from January 7 to April 7, 2025, and businesses must be pre-qualified before applying. This grant presents a significant opportunity for small businesses in Oglesby and surrounding areas to invest in long-term growth. A technical assistance session is scheduled for February 4, 2025, to help applicants navigate the process. Interested businesses should prepare necessary documentation, including a grant application, budget, and SEDI certification if applicable.
