At our upcoming Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 28th, we will be electing three new Board members. The three directors whose terms will be concluding are Nathen Nysse, Tom Prosser and Bill Stangel. Nathen Nysse and Tom Prosser have elected to re-run for another three year term. In addition to them, Scott Fleming and Greg Kerr have been nominated by the Nominations Committee. Click HERE to meet the candidates! As WAPAC is classified as a 501(c)5 Agricultural Organization by the IRS, we are required to inform our membership of the portion of your Trade Advocacy dues that may be deductible as a regular business expense for federal income tax purposes. For 2018, the portion of your Trade Advocacy dues that may be tax deductible is 98.0% , as reported to us by our trade advocacy law firm DeWitt Ross & Stevens. Please consult with your tax advisor regarding the deductibility of these dues.

Waterhemp Scores Again
Illinois Scientists Find New Resistance in Waterhemp

DECATUR, Ill. (DTN) -- Waterhemp has just thumbed its nose at another group of herbicides.
Waterhemp resistant to Group 15 herbicides (very long chain fatty acid inhibitors) has officially been found in Illinois research plots. It is the first dicot (broadleaf) weed in the world to outmaneuver herbicides within the Group 15 chemical family. While scientists aren't sure how widespread the issue is, University of Illinois weed scientist Aaron Hager said the discovery is yet another warning to change weed management behaviors now.
