Perfect and white teeth are more desired than ever, especially in the younger Gen-Z generation.
I remember waaaayyyy back when I was young and doctors warned me about things and I really didn't care one bit.
As time went on I became much more conscious of potential hazards and began avoiding some things that I was told would harm me.
TURKEY TEETH ARE TRENDING ON TIKTOK
The latest trend on TikTok is flying to Turkey to get a good "deal" on veneers, but many are choosing crowns after they arrive instead.
For those not familiar with crowns, each tooth is filed down to the size of a peg and then a crown is placed on top and glued into place.
I'm *cringing* as I am reading about all these younger people willingly and purposely grinding their teeth down to pegs only for TikTok aesthetic reasons.
Numerous things can go wrong with crowns and one is guaranteed that they will be a lifer in the dental chair when they purposely damage teeth to make a prettier smile.
There almost always seems to be a gum issue after crowns (right?!) and fixing these problems is never simple.
I say this from experience watching a family member that had FIVE different procedures to fix one tooth.
They were left with more pain than when they started and are still in tooth pain to this day (have given up on this tooth ...).
Warning Gen-Z about the potential dental nightmares of investing in Turkey Teeth may fall on deaf ears.
But just in case any of you are out there reading, I'm only sharing this to save you unnecessary pain and *Turkey Teeth Trauma* in the future.
"BBC News recently surveyed 1,000 U.K. dentists of which 597 said they had treated patients who experienced complications after visiting Turkey for dental work. For many patients, root canals must be done to address complications, resulting in more expenses. Nearly 1 in 5 of the patients surveyed said the repair costs exceeded 5,000 pounds ($5,989). Research further suggests that one-quarter of crowns have to be extracted after 15 years."
The best cleanser to use on crowns and all dental work is pure Tooth Soap®.
